Experimental Sound Mini-Compo
2012 will be full with MSX contests ! After the #msxdev Compo 2012 and the classical MSXdev’12 contest, here comes a challenge for music experts, launched by MsxKun of the Spanish Paxanga team and dedicated to the internal MSX soundchips : PSG, PPI keyclick, MSX-MUSIC (as it’s present on most MSX2+ and all MSXturboR) and PCM (only available on MSXturboR). All other parts of the MSX hardware can also contribute to make special sounds !
The deadline for this mini-compo is fixed to 30 April 2012 and you’ll find all the rules on the Karoshi Boards. Note that the goal of this contest is to reveal some unexpected features of the most used soundchips in the MSX universe. It can come under the form of demos, but only the internal VDP can be supported for this little challenge !
Maybe all these experimentations will give brilliant ideas to be implemented in games. The products released in this mini-compo will be presented on the MSX blue website.
