MSXdev’10 results ! Heroes Arena is the winner !

A contest ends always with a big winner. This time, Imanok enters the heroes zone with its brilliant game, Heroes Arena, where lovely characters of the MSX scene are again in action to win the final battle and decide who is the real hero. Well, after many hours of testing the 8 games submitted to the 2010 edition of the great MSXdev’ contest, the jury has decided that Imanok is a real super-hero.
All the others developers who have contributed to this adventure are also heroes : we have noticed a progression in quality for the submitted games and more important than all, the MSX community can enjoy 8 brand new games ! More games, more fun , that’s the spirit of this competition, and be sure we’ll prepare the next edition !!!

MSXdev’10 closes with 8 entries !
Thank you for supporting this great contest ! The 2010 edition is finished; the jury members will receive in the next days the votesheet and we’ll announce the winners at the end of february 2011 !

Unfortunaly, the RELEVO Videogames team was not ready to send us their mysterious game, Hyper Soldier Angel . As stated on their website, they’ll launch it when they’ll consider it is really finished and well tested. Other developers seem too busy with other projects, but we hope they’ll participate in a future edition !

Sticker for Hans’ Adventure
Attention ! We are now on 31 January 2011 and the deadline is coming near more and more. It’s really time to finish your little surprise for the MSX community ! Remember : we need to receive the full package (rom – manual – sticker) before the end of this day !
That’s probably the reason why The Pets Mode team has just sent us the sticker for their nice game Hans’ Adventure. Well done ! You are in time for this 2010 edition of the great MSXdev’ contest.
How many more games will we receive in the coming hours ??? More games, more fun for the MSX community !!!

Eighth entry : Heroes Arena
Just one day before the deadline, Imanok, who is a very faithful contributor to the different MSXdev’ editions and a very active coder on the Spanish MSX scene, comes, as usually, with a nice surprise. This time, it is freely inspired by the game Battle Flip Shot created by Visco for the Neo Geo system.

Heroes Arena can be played with 1 to 8 players. Each player chooses a well-known MSX character with personal special powers and you get involved in a tournament for a game that can be viewed as a mix of Pong and Break. There are indeed items with good or bad influence on the game. An exclusive battle mode for 2 players is also included. On MSX2 and higher, you can select the VDP frequency when booting and select a different color palette. With all these features, the MSX revival is on the good way, as it is the intention, if you read carefully the manual !!!
